WELCOME...

Wayne Township in Erie County, Pennsylvania has been characterized as having quiet beauty.  Organized in 1821, the township has a colorful history.  It was named for General Anthony Wayne, the famed Indian fighter.  Dotted with stagecoach stops and a leg of the Underground Railroad, we have been a part of history.  There are at least two Indian burial mounds located in our township.

Wayne Township surrounds the City of Corry on the North and West sides.  The township offers rolling hills of farm land, state game lands and woods, as well as tax free industrial zones, commercial areas along U.S. Route 6, and easy access to major cities such as Erie and Pittsburgh PA, Buffalo NY, and Cleveland OH.  We are close to Lake Erie, Chautauqua Lake and Institution, the Kinzua Dam, Peek 'N Peak Ski and Golf Resort, and the Allegheny National Forest; all providing many opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors.

If you would like to know more about our township and other communities in our area, you can go online to
www.visiteriepa.com/communities.  A great deal of information is available.  You will find general data; tax millage information for townships and schools; the codes, ordinances, and boards and commissions that each community has in effect; and the names of those individuals serving their communities.
