NEW BINS ADDED TO COUNTY DROP-OFF RECYCLING SITES
With Waste Management now responsible for the operation of the county's four drop-off sites, the changeover to green WM bins has begun.  The bins will have new signage applied identifying which materials are accepted.  Additionally, each site will change to "single-stream" recycling collection from the two-stream collection previously used; therefore, residents can now place fiber & commingled containers in any bin.  This is an important change to the program that will improve operational efficiencies, increase recycling access, and reduce collection costs.  For more information & directions to any of the sites go to www.eriecountyrecycling.com.

There are 4 locations within Erie County for residents to drop-off recyclables for free.
::  Holy Trinity Lutheran Church - Albion
::  Washington Township Building - Edinboro
::  Waterford Quality Market Store - Waterford
::  Elgin-Beaverdam Fire Department - Elgin

ERIE COUNTY RECYCLING PROGRAM
In November 2007, Elgin-Beaverdam Hose Company agreed to host our local recycling drop-off site.  Soon thereafter, Erie County contracted World Resource Recovery System to provide this service. We at Wayne Township are pleased with the location of this drop-off site, as well as the response by township residents.  Erie County proudly reports that participation has exceeded their expectations!

On November 30, 2008 Waste Management, Inc. (WMI) acquired World Resource Recovery System.  WMI will assume the obligations of the ECRP Drop-off Recycling Sites contracted previously by WRRS.  This contract runs through October 31, 2010.

If you find that the containers are full when you arrive to recycle, please don't leave your items on the ground near the container, for this defeats the whole theory of recycling.  Call the contact phone number listed below to let Erie County Recycling know.

In recognitition of his diligence and success with our recycling program for Wayne Township, we would like to say "Thank You" to township resident Keith Hanlin.  Keith spearheaded our recycling program from its beginning stages, to the present program that is in place here in the community.
